Hi. I’m Patrick Mohr, a Los Angeles-based technology consultant.
A long-time technophile and unflappable optimist, I believe in a future where our tools actually simplify our lives, enhance our productivity, and bring us more meaningful interactions. In my view, that future is within reach, and it doesn’t always involve investing in new technologies. It starts with the thoughtful and creative use of existing systems.
Much like the old myth about our brain usage, I find that people and organizations typically use only a small fraction of the available functionality built into their operating and computing environments. I attribute this, to some degree, to an aversion to documentation. Perhaps it was the advent of plug-and-play hardware, or the Google effect, but for whatever reason, people just don’t read the manual anymore. That’s where I come in.
A firm believer in the power of documentation, I enjoy helping people and teams re-learn how to use their tools. By teaching people how to work in harmony with their systems, rather than in spite of them, I have achieved dramatic improvements in workflows and huge efficiency gains.
Sometimes we don’t need a better mousetrap. Sometimes we just need to learn to add cheese without getting our fingers caught.
Thanks for stopping by.
-Patrick
